Dino-like Bird

Description

Here is a sketch of a concept creature that is a bird. It may have some similarities from its dinosaur ancestors but it is indeed a bird. First it does have fingers although two of them have fused to one just like modern birds. I did make a mistake on where the smaller finger would be just so you all know that. Also it has teeth like its dinosaur ancestors but birds (like chickens) in there eggs must have there egg tooth to hatch out and also in there embryonic state they do have teeth but then lose them sometime in there later development.

And unlike dinosaur, birds dont have boney tale. So i kept it without a long tale even though it could have one. I wanted this creature to resemble some of the old non-flying birds that ruled over South America called the "terror birds" millions of years back.

I wanted to post this mostly to get the opinion of :iconshartman: . To me this guy is the top authority on dinosaur and bird anatomy.

Enjoy

That's a nice hypothetical animal :) Regaining teeth after they were lost doesn't seem terribly likely, but if you were starting over from a more basal maniraptoran stock you can find examples of teeth and beaks together, so depending on the history you want to make up for your critter that can be ok.

I do expect that the wing feathers would have still covered the hands in almost any hypothetical birdosaur, just as it does in all known dinosaurs with protowings. Cool project, I really like hypothetical art that tries to follow realistic anatomy.
